Duplicating an Entry

Do you sometimes find yourself documenting several nearly identical objects, or cataloging an item that is very similar to one that has already been documented? CatalogIt includes a duplication feature that can save time and reduce repetitive data entry.

To duplicate an Entry:

  1. Open the Entry you would like to duplicate.
  2. From the Entry view (not Edit mode), click the Actions Menu (three dots) in the upper-right corner.
  3. Select Duplicate.
Where to find the Duplicate feature in the Entry Viewer in CatalogIt.

CatalogIt will create a new Entry that is nearly identical to the original. You will need to provide a new name for the Entry and add its own images and condition assessment.

If your account has auto-numbering enabled for Accession Numbers and/or Entry/Object IDs, CatalogIt will automatically assign the next available number to the duplicated Entry.

For more information about accessioning, see the MasterIt resource below.
