Creating Object Labels

CatalogIt allows you to generate professional object labels directly from your records using the Print feature. This makes it easy to create shelf tags, storage labels, or temporary object markers using the information already in your entries.

This guide walks you through how to generate and customize object labels.

When are Object Labels Useful?

Use the Print → Labels feature when you need to:

  • Produce storage box or shelf labels
  • Print object identification tags
  • Quickly export object details in a clean format

Because labels pull directly from your catalog records, they remain accurate and consistent with your database.

How to Create Object Labels

  1. Navigate to All Entries or the Folder you want to create labels for.
  2. You can also search to select the specific records you need.
  3. Click the Action Menu and choose Print, then Labels.
  4. Select your desired Label Template from the Page Setup Menu.
    1. CatalogIt currently supports various standard label types, as well as the option to create custom sized labels.
  5. Print the Labels or save them to your computer.

Note: You can also add both internal and HUB QR codes to your Labels, allowing staff or visitors to scan the code and learn more about the object.
